1. Overview

Dev-Belt (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates dev-belt.com, a browser-based developer tools platform. We take your privacy seriously. All 246 developer tools run entirely in your browser — no tool inputs, outputs, or results are ever transmitted to our servers.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: Email address and name when you sign in via Google or GitHub (through Clerk).
• Subscription data: Payment and billing information is handled by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
• Usage metadata: We may collect anonymous aggregate usage statistics (e.g. which category pages are visited) using standard web server logs. No tool-level usage data is logged.
• Cookies: We use essential session cookies required for authentication. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session
• To manage your Pro subscription and process payments via Stripe
• To send transactional emails (e.g. subscription receipts) — never marketing without consent
• To improve the service through anonymous aggregate analytics

4. Tool Privacy

All developer tools (JSON formatters, hash generators, encoders, decoders, etc.) execute entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No tool input or output data is sent to our servers. Your code, passwords, tokens, keys, and other sensitive data never leave your device.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us. Stripe payment records are retained as required by law (typically 7 years).

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: Update inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request account and data deletion
• Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
• Opt-out: Opt out of any non-essential data processing

8. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit. Authentication is handled by Clerk with industry-standard security. Database access is restricted and encrypted at rest.

9. Children

Dev-Belt is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
